"Foothills" is a proposed annexation to the Town of Crested Butte that is based on "New Urbanism" design principles and "Form Based Zoning and Codes" all with the overarching goal of carbon neutrality. "Transect" based organizing principles were employed to arrange densities from a rural condition to a more urban condition. Recommendations were proposed that outline everything from Block Standards, Building Type Standards, Architectural Standards, Green Building Standards, Landscape Standards, Public Space Standards, Automobile / Parking Standards and Lighting Standards.
